I need to solve a similar problem.
I used from qLib gallery: SOP Gallery, qLib–SOP/Volumes -> VDB/SDF Geo Blending subnetwork.
The incomin
geometry has textures. Is there a way to mantain and transfer UVs and textures?

Same here. Stable on workstation with same Nvidia driver while crashing on laptop. 15.5 is perfect on both systems..
Downloading the 16.0.553 to see if it helps….
EDIT: Same crash with 16.0.553. “12744: Fatal error: Segmentation fault”

…I ended up with this instead: https://www.komplett.no/product/853773/pc-nettbrett/pc-baerbar/gaming-pc-er/asus-rog-g752vy-173-fhd-matt-g-sync [komplett.no] but with 64gb ram and 2tb for the second disk.
You can do pretty complex stuff on these machines, but the fan will be running when you push it

Awesome. Double the VRAM does look very attractive. How much RAM are these laptops ever use?
I wonder if I will ever need 64. It may be enough with 32 or even 16?

Hi all.
I am considering purchase of a laptop for doing visualisation, simulation, rendering and gamedev work.
I plan to spend roughly 3500USD on it.
The software I will be using is:
Houdini, Maya, City Engine, Unreal Engine..
I see a few Gamer laptops with a lot of memory (64GB) and Graphic cards with 4 GB Grafix cards. For the same price I can get a Gamer card with double the amount of Video memory. Or this is a mistake?
My questions are.
1. Does Houdini ever use 64 GB ram? Or is there a limit to what Houdini or OS is ever going to use?
2. What are the differences between Gamer and Profesional Grafic cards? Should I go for a PRO card or is Gamer card “just as good”?
I found a laptop with 64 GB ram and 4GB Grafix card for under 3500 USD
Acer Predator G9-791 17,3" FHD -Demo
GeForce GTX980M,Core i7-6700HQ,64GB RAM,512GB PCIe SSD,2TB HDD,DVD±RW,Win10 Home [komplett.no]
Should I purchase this or is this no good for FX work?
Thank you in advance..
